As you can see above, I got my Joe Pye Weed ready for the refrigerator so they can go through a cold spell for about a month. Afterwards, I’ll plant the seeds and hopefully get some plants that I can over winter and plant next Spring. Next challenge will be finding a good home for them. If the ground is not to wet I’m going to plant the rest of the cantaloupe and about a half dozen zinnias to set out. I may leave a some cantaloup and cucumbers in the greenhouse to see what I can do with them. I also moved a couple small pots of geraniums from outside to greenhouse. Geraniums have always been one of my favorite plants as they add lots of color, and it seems like I never have enough plants. Of course, that could be said for lots of other plants too.
I really need to mow this morning hopefully the grass is dry enough and it doesn’t rain. It looks like blue sky for now. We took a recycling run yesterday morning to Lone Pine with some cardboard. The trash truck wants to charge more to pick up the cardboard, so we’ll just take care of ourselves. The cost of everything just keeps going up it seems.
I too to k a tray of tomatoes over to share with other Master Gardeners at our meeting last night. I still have tomato plants to give away. The Master Gardeners are getting to be a large group and their activities mainly focusing on the demonstration garden, and helping to maintain several aspects of the Botanical Gardens on South Scenic is awesome. Seeing so many dedicated gardeners in one place is a good thing.
