Every year in June the Brentwood and Hillbilly Garden Clubs sponsor a Flower Show that highlights the gardening and flower design talents of its members. It is a good way to promote the expertise of our members and display them for the public to promote their activities. The Garden Show was held at the Botanical Gardens Center on South Scenic this past Saturday. The picture above is from my garden along south Jefferson that won third place in the photography contest.
The Hillbilly Garden Club of Springfield meets at noon the first Wednesday of each month at the Botanical Center. Put on your calendar and drop by. We love visitors who like to discuss their gardening activities. We always have great speakers and help each other as best we can.
I have been a member of the Hillbilly Garden Club for a couple years now and enjoy the friendships and seeing the gardening exploits of our members. The Annual Flower Show is a good thing!
