This is an interesting entry of the I Ching discussing the coming together of spirits. From a larger perspective it symbolized the coming together of heaven and earth. If they did not come together the myriad things would not flourish and find their beginnings and endings. This can relate to looking for one thing and finding something better that suits us. How history relates to storytelling over time reminding us of how we relate to things when events and people change.
The coming together of spirits that correspond with an historical event that can change the times and our lives. The key is acting in a spontaneous manner looking to our ultimate role beyond our thinking simply of today’s events. Living in the moment for eternity’s sake by yielding to the innate nature we have always followed and known. To whatever is stopping or hindering us from proceeding being removed from our way forward. As though tied to the stars and a streaking comet overhead.
It speaks to having an ultimate goal, intention, or destination and proceeding until we find it. Looking for one thing and finding something else that better suits us. (In history the Marrying Maiden was a woman promised to a King and was accompanied by her younger sister. Her sister had the child of the King).
Number 54 of the I Ching
Spirits in erotic rendezvous
A comet overhead coinciding with a premeditated chance encounter. A shared look and certain knowledge that the chemistry is electric, seemingly cosmic.

Spirits coming together as if they have met before and are destined to meet again. A planned encounter decided centuries earlier with certain knowledge that they will meet again and again. Finding joy only when the other is found.
A celebration of friends is called for in which both are invited. Mutual interests bring together the attraction almost deafening to those close by as the oneness of both is exposed. Only they sure of exactly why. The next week is spent together where everything else ceases to exist as two become one as spirits in erotic rendezvous. Energy and ecstasy released as it is with the comet passing overhead only once in a century.
Weeks progress as the relationship grows. Plans for marriage are made and discussed and families put on notice. Feelings ever present on the surface, too close for comfort with others present. Without warning, a sudden shift in the prevailing wind and the joining is complete. As if their essence and souls are traveling on the comet’s tail now overhead. The celestial body only now moving on to other destinations throughout the galaxy. Spreading love only fleetingly and in ways temporal and transitory.

Meteoric feelings come and go leaving a residue impossible to imagine and only more difficult to endure. Efforts to rekindle are fruitless, though both are secure in knowing this moment in time will always be repeated. Parting sadly, feelings of empathy are shared and what must occur occurs. Years later, another chance encounter with knowing glances. Each lost for now.
Each anticipating forever to come as the comet marches on.
