When our true path becomes much clearer.

Wisdom and compassion are often met with virtue along our journey, or path. It is when our way-seeking mind is aroused from within, there is freedom from fame and gain. This is a basic thought of that proposed by not only the I Ching and Taoism, but Buddhism as well. It becomes our purpose to live and make the present our true source, having compassion and living in the moment. When I think of awareness, I am reminded of having a sense of compassion for all things. As though we are looking down from a birds-eye view from above the clouds where we have a more perfect vision of things below. A great place from where meditation begins.

I am reminded of what we think bounds us to things in the past that will define us for others as well as ourselves. The focus here is to release what bounds or binds us to those things not in keeping with or to our true selves. Who and what we use to define our presence that sometimes has become self-defeating. Releasing and letting go becomes the paramount way to our enfoldment from what limits us. Looking to inner virtue and our memories helps to create clarity we use to proceed.

We grow by sacrificing those things not in keeping with our true way forward. Learning the limits of things frees us from compulsive actions that are detrimental to both us and others. There is an ancient saying that we are to move through our lives as though other people aren’t watching or even there, thereby freeing yourself from error and having no need for mistakes. It is in learning restraint with others present, that our true path becomes clear.

Number 52 of the I Ching

Visions Yet Unfulfilled

Clouded by details it becomes difficult to continue without stumbling over rocks and debris. As you look further down the path to find the easiest and simplest way you should travel. Needing to clear your head, small pebbles and stones become rocks and boulders that ultimately lead to mountain peaks that may be too much to be overcome.

The Peak      Huangshan Mountain

While there are many encounters along the way to slow you down or test your knowledge, purpose and ability; it will be the countenance one brings along to overcome the odds that will determine success of the journey. Attempting to reach snow covered mountains seen gleaming in the distance in the bright light of a summer day is a worthy challenge. However, without knowing the ultimate aim, even a stone thrown in the right direction will surely miss its mark and miss badly.

Keep to a steady pace and know the results of your actions yet to come. Be satisfied that success has followed your footsteps. But be careful not to be caught running only in place seen spinning your wheels.

The Panorama  Huangshan Mt.

Majestic mountains seen on the horizon keeps one focused on the task at hand as you explore nooks and crannies that lead to nowhere but up and finally over the top encompassing all.

Looking down at the panorama to follow distant streams of smoke billowing signal people and places yet to be seen. Staying above it all but sensing others needs and values that propel each one potentially to new heights and visions yet unfulfilled.  This has proven to be a good way to come, mountains now in the background with only a clear vision ahead.
