Planting potatoes and getting fence built

Everything in my garden seems like it is when I get around to it. It is St Patrick’s Day and traditions mean something. I don’t think it’s that important that the potatoes got planted today, as they are symbolic of the beginning of Spring.  My potatoes are going into one of my new raised beds in my back yard. They need a lot of compost and full sun.

I also think of companion planting with them and they like herbs. Especially basil, parsley, and cilantro that I’ll plant later after they come up. I also have my favorite immortality iris to plant along with marigolds. And a fence that’s half complete. Another deterrent is onions that act as pest deterrent.

It seems like I have twenty things going on at the same time. I usually have a list of six or eight things to do everyday and I’m lucky to get half of them done…
