Sunday’s meditation — “There Is Another Way”

On my birthday in 2018, after spending the night on the summit, I watched the first light rise over HuaShan Mountain — standing among the prayer ribbons of countless seekers, acknowledging our highest good and the Way that calls us forward.

There is another Way — a Way older than memory, older than the names we have carried through lineages and lifetimes, older than the stories we tell to steady ourselves. It is a Way that begins in the quiet rhythm of our own heart and breath, rising, falling, returning. This same rhythm has carried us across centuries, through countless movements of spirit, guiding us gently through eternity. It is the pulse beneath every moment of our lives, the breath that has never abandoned us, the quiet companion that has walked with us through every incarnation.

There is another Way — a Way that does not demand effort or discipline but asks only that we listen to the movement already within us. The breath knows where it is going. The heart remembers what it has always known. The spirit follows a rhythm older than time itself. When we stop trying to shape the Way and allow the Way to shape us, clarity emerges without struggle. The path opens without force. The next step reveals itself without fear.

There is another Way — a Way that moves like wind across an open valley, like water finding its path down a mountain, like stars drifting across the night sky without hurry or hesitation. This Way does not rush. It does not force. It does not struggle. It simply follows its own nature and invites us to follow ours. In this movement, we discover that we are not separate from the cosmos, not strangers to the eternal, not lost in the vastness. We are part of the rhythm that moves all things — the breath of Heaven, the pulse of Earth, the quiet knowing that lives in every spirit.

There is another Way — a Way that teaches us that clarity is not achieved through effort, but through surrender. Not through control, but through trust. Not through fear, but through remembering who we are and who we have always been. When we follow this Way, when we breathe with it, when we let our heart move with it, when we allow it to carry us, the burden lifts. The path opens. The spirit steps forward without hesitation.

There is another Way. And today, it is mine to choose.
