Pictured above is an area I planted a week ago and this heat and no rain is taking its toll. It is just too hot!
I think one of the most difficult areas of maintenance is weed control in our yard and gardens. Trying to add new plants in this heat is almost impossible. It is just too hot. Luckily, I have mostly Missouri native perennials, so they are draught tolerant, but they are feeling the heat and lack of water. I have not watered my flowers but probably should. I keep hoping for rain but so far it has been a very dry July and early August.
I have three trays of tomatoes that need at be repotted and moved outside. I have the pots and soil mix, but in this heat, I am not ready to move them. I guess I am mainly looking for the energy to do them. If anyone would like some tomato plants, please come by…
