Denying the inevitable can only take us so far.

An ancient saying says clouds on the horizon bring good fortune.

Staying in or with the flow of virtue is difficult at best and being human too. Things always seeming to get in the way of what we have come to call or know as our highest aspiration. Not from ego or something seen as outside us but kindling the inner spark as we acknowledge that there is more to being here than just being here. So many mentors over time that you have come to admire, know, and appreciate when they get our attention for what we need for the journey ahead.

Our greatest challenge often asking are we worthy of where they have chosen to take us that serve only to remind us of our eternal memories that have always been present but mostly forgotten. To be found following our highest attribute and virtue. It always seems like putting aside those things we deem important but are not for the journey ahead. Coming forward to remember our memories recalling and knowing our past and where they may lead. Needing context and seeing things as who we think we are verses who we are to histories telling. Finding that denying the inevitable can only take us so far.

If though rain and thunder overhead only a reminder that the elements of your success are close by. You know the words, you have always known the words, it is implementing into your thoughts, mind, and heart that require some adjustment.

It is the Art of Becoming that alludes us over time. We like to procrastinate and to as they might say “to stop and smell the roses”, that causes temporary blindness. That we like what we feel and see outside of us and have decided to stay here for a while. The inevitable journey may lie ahead but we live now in a world that alternates between comfort and fear and haven’t decided which route to take just yet. It is in looking beyond the horizon that the comfort we seek resides.

Voices of the Dragon   Part 2   Number 8

Keeping to the Lower Clouds

Prancing around the Tao to and fro giving life to words and meanings which otherwise would be left out in the darkness.  Bringing a sense of right behavior and wholesomeness to the effort. Lao Tzu simply sitting back watching with earnest speculation. As the ultimate paradox you must keep approaching the Tao Te Ching but keep away from its intricacies.

When you are prepared for the journey, the dragons will let you know. Keep Chuang Tzu and Lieh Tzu as your mentors until they feel you are ready to proceed.

There is much work ahead, however. Perhaps taking a year or more before the map is laid out to be traveled by this one. There are many rivers and mountains to traverse before the Tao can be attempted and fully appreciated as to where Cloud Dancing is going with all this. Stay focused only on what must be done and have nothing to do. Just remember to keep to the lower clouds…

The Essence of Tao  Shaanxi Museum

Capturing the essence of the Tao is one thing. Being prepared to approach the Tao Te Ching is quite another matter and much further along the journey. Great things are expected of this one who has caught the dragon’s attention. Too much too soon simply clutters what must be said and done along the way.

The I Ching barely complete. 4/13/94
