A hawk came by to visit this morning.

A hawk came by to visit my chickens this morning. They were nowhere to be seen as though it was unwelcome company. The hawk first came by and sat on the railing for just a few minutes. It later returned and set for several minutes before flying off.

Everything is pretty dry. We need rain. Most of what I grow are perennials that are Missouri natives, so they are pretty adept to the dry conditions. I’m trimming a bit earlier than usual so the plants don’t waste too much energy trying to support the taller ones. Some seem overgrown or unusually tall because of the heavy rain last spring.

It’s too hot and we need rain. That pretty much sums it up.
