This entry of the I Ching is about traversing and passing over small incidents that are really insignificant and in the long run pretty meaningless. About moving into a new time as though we are now ready to use the crossing over, we’ve already made to our best benefit. To a journey where there are no preset rules that may now hinder our progress. It is where letting go of past perceived indiscretions of those closest to us that will free us to make the journey that must be made. To the place where rules are dissolved and borders crossed.
It is here that we are to hold back or curtail our ambitions and pay attention to our lacking natural abilities as we learn self-discipline. To engage in only those things in which we are competent. Lacking inner resources to proceed, we can still enjoy some success in our modest endeavors. After all, we are on this journey in order that we may expand our horizons through knowledge and wisdom we have gained as we travel the Way of Virtue, as the ultimate meaning of following the I Ching.
Learning that small victories can bring great rewards as we find ourselves bringing situations that we encounter to maturity. Looking to the family and relationships to what should become what would be called a transformational energy for others to experience for themselves as well. As we are hindered in acknowledging that as we look to the horizon, we are to see beyond ourselves and our intentions and to stop seeing others only by their actions.
Number 62 of the I Ching
Brothers and Sisters
The first full moon of Spring brings a reminder of oneness and sense of self only to be had among siblings, brothers and sisters.

Distance and time forgotten as mutual aspirations are shared and respected. Each bringing only expectations from within and shared appreciation for what is ultimately important. Sharing only a bond of self-acclaim.
Just knowing the other is there and that a shared sense of purpose exists. Defining love for each other as only brothers and sisters can in their own way. Recollections of past events and remembrances of times and acquaintances shared. Knowing that each is living out his or her own sense of importance and purpose and coming to know the oneness found in all things. Always continuing the never ending search for a sense of self and finding one’s center where everything must begin and end.
Years may pass and exchanges long distance may occur all too infrequently. However, the simple sound of the others voice bringing a comfort in the knowledge that we can truly be ourselves. It is the reflection that we see of ourselves in each other as only brothers and sisters can in their own way. Knowing all the while that all will be well afterwards. What is family, except a shared sense of values and purpose?
Sensing that when all else fails there will always be someone to talk to. A conversation where comfort is but a foregone conclusion.
