The end of May – more rain and weeds.

This morning my brother-in-law David and I took about a dozen full bags of weeds I have pulled from my flowerbeds in the front yard to the recycling center on Lone Pine. We usually go to the recycling center out West Sunshine, but today we went to Lone Pine. That’s a lot of weeds. When we got back, because it’s still too wet to mow, I pulled more weeds in the front yard. (see above) At least all this rain has one good thing… it makes it easier to pull weeds. I know my front yard (grass wise) looks awful. It looks better after it has been mowed. Maybe I should forget mowing and just plant more flowers. Maybe later this afternoon if the sun comes out (I doubt it), I can mow. It looks like we’re going for the all-time record for rain for the months of April and May. We’re pretty close and rain again tomorrow will probably put us over the top.

My flowers I mentioned in my last post for the berm in the back yard are still waiting. Except for adding a few flowers in the front yard I’m done, except the Shasta daisies will need dead heading in a few weeks. There are always openings for more plants of course.
