Before working on my plants there are some things I need to do. First finish putting compost and the flower and garden soil mix on the rest of the raised beds. I like to use the comport to boost what I’m growing in my raised beds along with the soil mix that includes a slow-release fertilizer that helps to ensure growth of what I am planting over the season. Second, I need to finish preparing the chicken area in my back yard to put down straw that I got yesterday. This includes digging up the remaining grass, so I don’t have to worry about cutting or mowing. Third, is planting onions. They have been soaking in a bucket of water for a couple day to give them a head start once they’re planted. Sounds like a full day.
Day 2 I transplanted the following on Tuesday:
- Repot two trays of Sweet Banana peppers 28 pots 84 plants
- Repot small tray Carnival blend sweet peppers 15 plants
- Repot three trays Dwarf blue curled kale 42 pots 168 plants
- Repot one tray Early Prolific straight neck summer squash 8 pots 24 plants
- Repot one tray 49er hybrid summer squash 8 pots 24 plants
- Repot two trays Summer pak F1 summer squash 16 pots 48 plants
102 pots 363 plants
What’s remaining, is a few trays plus the tomatoes still to be repotted. The tomatoes can wait a few days. Experience tells me that they are already about 6 inches tall. Once they are transplanted, they will grow very quickly. I need to slow them down. There are easily two than two hundred plus plants.
