Finding the right shoes that fit.

Over time we learn to confine ourselves to such subjects for which we are best qualified by temperament, training, and importantly inclination. Looking back upon my life, I know that for all my travails, experiences and travel that this was the right thing to do, and for what is left will be done at another time. What I look to in the present fills me with certainty, confidence, and peace. What my gardening and writing does now is to allow me to concentrate unhurriedly on whatever the task present demands.

That what my travels and writing has taught me over the years is that no work of importance, that my heart is bent upon with single-minded devotion, will remain unfinished. This is what finding and following my highest endeavor and finding the right shoes that help to refresh my memories has taught me. Others may scoff and laugh at my unique approach to life. But I am happy both with good and perfect teachers and having some ability to be at peace. To continue to learn the correct path that I am to follow, be able to teach others, and contribute to the cosmos before returning to the stars from which I came. With the I Ching conveying beginnings and endings of all things the journey continues.

Number 18 of the I Ching

Finding The Right Shoes

Father and son, tradition and innovation. Old ways and new things.

Knowing patterns of one’s life brings purpose. Finding purpose through another man’s eyes is not easy. Conflict arises.  Immortality is questioned but always prevails.

Finding one’s sense of purpose cannot be left to earthly whim. Finding purpose in greater things allows one to escape from individual concern. Following footsteps may be old-fashioned, however those steps are homed in tradition and value.  Keeping to the right path is knowing how to find yourself in shoes that fit.

Tradition teaches that structure brings continuity. With continuity comes focus, focus brings clarity and with clarity one can find understanding in all things. Understanding patterns of one’s life brings integrity.

Well-worn shoes may require soles, though once repaired the same shoes still can be left to fit the right feet. Find happiness and security in tradition and be eternally rewarded. Ancestors past and spirits yet to come will know comfort through your steps. Seek your own standards yet remain ever diligent. Remember from where you came and seek your own immortality.
